After two incredibly busy Day 1’s, the Party Poker sponsored WPT Montreal enters into Day 2 of the action at Canada’s largest poker club, Playground Poker. The combined prize pool has surpassed $3.5 million and the top 117 players will share in the money. The winner will go home $754 thousand tax-free richer and have their name engraved on the WPT Trophy next to many other great poker legends ion the WPT Champions Club like Doyle Brunson, Eric Seidel, Barry Greenstein, Scotty Nguyen, Gus Hansen, Freddy Deeb, Joe Hachem, as well as former WPT Champions playing at WPT Montreal like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Gavin Smith, Mike Watson, Shawn Buchanan, and double WPT bracelet winner Marvin Rettenmaier.

If that isn’t enough, the winner will also win a $25,000 seat to the crown jewel of the World Poker Tour, the WPT World Championships, which takes place next May 2013 at the famed Bellagio in Las Vegas for a chance at millions in prize money and a chance to play against many more of the elite in the poker world. You can still live the dream of playing in a World Poker Tour event, it is only a click away by qualifying on one of many satellites only on Party Poker.

  1. It commend the great initiative by Party Poker, Playground Club and WPT organizers to bring the World Poker Tour back to Canada after a long hiatus clearly due to government politics. It just proves that Canada is not some forgotten place and that big tours with huge prize pool potential can survive here and also catch the attention of many big poker names who are on site. The chance to win such a big number of packages online, 50 I believe were won online on Party, also gives a chance to the smaller guys who don’t necessarily have the huge bankrolls to otherwise play is also an important part in bringing such events to the tables.

  2. Special thx to Canadapoker.com for amazing up to date coverage of the tournaments. You were able to make a poker fan out of my Girlfriend, who can’t stand poker and by your awesome reporting kept her in the loop on my very first WPT tournament action and positions…also special thanks to PLAYGROUND POKER CLUB for my “Disneyland” Experience as I am a poker fan first, But the service and professionalism in that card room is second to none. I was made to feel like a rock star even though i am just a regular “Joe” I will be back each and every year the WPT is held here !!!
