A few recently familiar names have popped up again this weekend in Canadian poker; this time around in another PPC $1000 notable results include both Montreal legend Vlad Faubert and Ontario’s Demo Kiriopoulos.
143 players turned out this weekend for a 2 day event in one of Kahnawake’s popular poker clubs, Playground Poker Club not quite packing the joint this go around, but still an impressive turn-out for the time of year and buy-in.
While several favorites, including reigning champ Guillaume Rivet where back for Sunday’s remaining field, it seems like the final table was packed with enough of some of the countries tough competitors to warrant a six way, Individual Chip Model based chop.
Vlad was awarded the top payday of the deal, and with it credit for a first place finish; considering he came second to Rivet, just a few months back in October’s 1k, one could consider this his just deserts.
Demo Kiriopoulos on the other hand seems to just be adding to an epic “break-out” year, adding another five figures here to his bankroll; this young emerging pro Canadian also recently took down the 2011 Punta Cana Poker Classic for $136,000 just a little while back.
Here is the breakdown of the 6 way deal and the players who cashed in:
