Griffin Benger WSOPThe World Series of Poker has wrapped up Day 4 of the Main Event and only 291 players remain to battle it out for a share of the $62,820,200 prize pool. The winner is guaranteed a $10 million pay day, which is $1,638,430 more than last year’s Main Event winner Ryan Riess took home.  On top of the $10 million in cash, the 2014 WSOP Main Event Champion will also receive a “priceless” commemorative bracelet designed by Jason of Beverly Hills. The bracelet has over 35 carats of white and black diamonds and weighs in at just under 300 grams of 14 karat white and yellow gold.

This year’s Main Event attracted 6,683 which is 331 more than in 2013. What’s even more interesting is that 3,756 of those participants (56%) started on Day 1C, setting a new record for the largest Main Event starting Day.

Players finishing in positions 695 and higher are already in the money including a number of Canadians (see below). As players enter into Day 5, there are still several Canadian players in contention, the most notable chip count belonging to Griffin Benger of Toronto, who currently sits 3rd in chips trailing the current chipleader Matthew Haugen from Chicago. Other Canadians holding notable stacks include Anthony Diotte (19), Simon Charette (21), Chanracy Khun (39), Bradley Tuck (51).
