The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver Poker Championships will be featuring 4 Events April 1st to 6th with buy ins ranging from $180 to $1100. The event series will be sanctioned by the Canadian Poker Tour and qualify for its Player of the Year Race and they will also be sponsoring the Player of the Series competition. Points will be earned by players that cash in Events 2, 3 and 4 with the winner receiving a package to the CPT Spring Showdown Poker Series in Calgary the following week. Package will include cash for travel to Calgary, 2 nights accommodation and buy in to the $125,000 Guaranteed $1100 Main Event.
An exciting new event as part of the lineup will be the C.H.O.P. event which stands for Crazy Pineapple, Hold’Em, Omaha and Pineapple. These variations of regular Texas Hold’Em give players a new format to compete in and looks to be a popular new trend in tournament series play.
Event 1 – Seniors $180 + $20 buy in with 15,000 starting stack and 30 minute levels (age 50+)
Event 2 – C.H.O.P $165 + $15 buy in with 10,000 starting stack and 20 minute levels
Event 3 – NLH $450 + $50 buy in with 20,000 starting stack and 30 minute levels
Event 4 – Main Event $1000 + $100 buy in with 20,000 starting stack and 45 minute levels
Hard Rock Casino Vancouver was formerly known as Boulevard Casino located in Coquitlam and these event replace the popular Boulevard 500 poker series. Hard Rock Casino Vancouver and the Canadian Poker Tour invite all players to come, play and check out the new facility and all it has to offer.
