The inaugural Stardust Canadian Poker Classic is set to take place from August 17th to September 2nd, featuring a 1,000$ + $100 Main Event sponsored by PokerStars.net with a guaranteed prize pool of 300,000$. The winner of the 165$ Monthly PokerStars.net Deep Stack Poker Challenge for the month will also be receiving a PokerStars.net branded TAG Heuer watch in a box autographed by Team PokerStars Pro and Stardust Poker Mansion spokesperson Jonathan Duhamel valued at $2,500 CAD.
In addition to a packed live, affordable No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha tournament and satellite series schedule, (details below), a charity events will also be hosted; Strardust Poker Mansion Charity $150 + $10 No-Limit Hold-em on August 19th with re-buys plus add-on that are 100% tax-deductible to and going to support the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The Final table will be on the 20th of August.
Players can also qualify to participate to play in select Canadian Poker Classic events on PokerStars.com, with plenty of qualifiers under the Tourney > Regional tabs starting as low as 200 FPP or 2.55$, all the way up to a 109$ satellite with 5 seats guaranteed for each running.
Aug. 30th- Sept 2nd – Main Event Sponsored by PokerStars.net – 1,100$ No Limit Hold’em
All play begins at noon for this event, starting on August 30th for Day 1a, August 31st for Day 1b and both starting days feature a 150 player cap with NO re-entry but have the possibility of alternates. This 1,100$ boasts 30,000 starting chips with 50 minute blind levels for Day 1s, then increasing to one hour for Day 2 and the Final Day on September 2nd. 30% of each Day 1 field will advance to Day 2, with blinds rolling back to the earliest Day 1 completed.
Aug. 23rd-27th – 165$ STARDUST CLASSIC No Limit Hold’em
3 day 1’s will give players both an affordable buy-in and the convenience of choosing the starting day that works best for them. Participants start with 20,000 in tournament chips, with an optional 5$ dealer add-on for another 5000. Blind levels are 30 minutes and 30% of each Day 1 starting field will advance to Day 2 and play down to the final 10 returning on Day 3.
Play begins at 7:30PM on August 23rd and 24th, 1:00PM on August 25th & 26th and 7:00PM for the final 10 on August 27th.
August 20th & 27th, 7:30PM – 225$ + 25$ PLO Deep Stack
Players receive 25,000 in starting chips, with an optional 5$ dealer add-on for 5,000 more. Blind Levels are 20 minutes long.
Aug. 21st & 28th, 7:30PM – 150$ + 15$ Deep Stack Turbo
Players start with 30,000 in tournament chips and have the option of taking a 10,000 chip dealer add-on for 5$. Blind levels escalate every 15 minutes.
August 22nd & 29th, 7:30PM – 315$ Mega Bounty NLH
This 150$ + 150$ + 15$ has half the player prize-pool awarded in the pay-outs, while the other half pays out participants 150$ for every player that they eliminate.
Starting stacks are set at 17,000 in tournament chips, with an optional 5$ dealer add-on for another 3,000 and 20 minute blind levels.
August 20th, 21st, 22nd – Super Satellite to Main Event
1:00 PM start time; 50$+10$ with re-buys until the first break, players start with 5000 in tournament chips and have the option of a 5$ dealer add-on for another 5000. Participants under 5,000 in chips will be allowed to re-buy for 50$ and another 50$ add-on at the break will be offered for an additional 10,000 chips. Blind levels are 20 minutes long.
Aug. 28th, 29th, 30th – 110$ + 10$ Main Event Satellite
Beginning each day at 1:00PM, players begin with 10,000 in chips and have the option of a 5$ dealer add-on for another 5,000. Blind levels will be 20 minutes long, with 1 seat to the PokerStars.net Main Event being awarded for every 10 participants.
Cash Games
Stardust Poker Mansion offers 15 full felt tables with 2 private VIP rooms and 2 head-ups table spreading anything from 1$/2$ up to 100$-200$. VIP 1 is the Jonathon Duhamel room for “High Stakes”, with 1 table surrounded by 6 plasma TV’s, while VIP 2 has the same setup but has 2 tables; for those interested, at the time of writing, (July 21st, 2012) the Main Bad Beat Jackpot was set at 100,000$.
Food is free for all cash game players with a “poker friendly menu options” for tournament players that are very affordable.
