Shawn-BuchananShawn ‘buck21’ Buchanan adds TCOOP win to previous WCOOP and SCOOP titles to become the first player to win the PokerStars ‘Triple COOP’  after taking down TCOOP-33 – an $82 Razz event – for $14,714.50. He has now become the first player to win an event in each of the three major championships of online poker.

Buchanan’s first PokerStars ‘COOP’ win came in 2007 when he won a World Championship of Online Poker title in a $530 Pot Limit Omaha for $97,262. He had to wait five years to pick up his next PokerStars COOP title, winning a $2,100 Razz event   during the Spring Championship of Online Poker 2012 festival for $44,145, before winning a second SCOOP title last year in a $2,100 NLHE 10-Max Shootout for $118,800. He then completed the Triple COOP with another Razz win last night. His four ‘COOP’ victories total $274,921.50 in tourney winnings.

With the first Triple COOP winner crowned, the race is now on to become the first PokerStars Grand Slam winner, which requires all three COOP titles and a Sunday Million win.

Shawn ‘buck21’ Buchanan, David ‘Gunslinger3’ Bach and Andrey ‘Kroko-dill’ Zaichenko are the only three players who are one title away, but Bach and Zaichenko are best placed as they have the remaining 15 events from TCOOP 2014 to win their Triple COOPs and become the first Grand Slam winner simultaneously.

From the initial 50 events in this year’s TCOOP, 35 events have been completed with 15 remaining. The series concludes on Sunday night (Feb 2) when the highlight of the festival – the $700 NL Hold’em Main Event – takes place, featuring a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, and a minimum of $300,000 for first place. Satellites are running around the clock with players able to qualify from just $1. Log into the client and click ‘Events’ > ‘TCOOP’ > ‘Cash Satellites’ for more information.

Going into the final weekend the TCOOP 2014 Player of the Series Leader Board is hotting up, with the top places being dominated by Danish players. Leading the way after 35 events is ‘CMoosepower’ from Denmark, who has 220 points. He is ahead of fellow Dane ‘jonaj10’ by 30 points, with Shawn ‘buck21’ Buchanan in third on 180 points. The winner receives a Champion’s Trophy, plus 2015 PCA package worth $16,500. There are also SCOOP 2014 tickets of different amounts awarded for players finishing 2nd to 50th on the Leader Board.
