A new PokerStars branded live poker room will be opening up in Macau at the City of Dreams Casino. This one will follow the recently opened PokerStars LIVE branded poker room in Casino Gran Madrid which will be followed by one at the London Hippodrome Casino, a property party owned by PokerStars, on March 4th.
The City of Dreams is the second largest casino complex in Macau and the poker room will be named “PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams.” While this is not the first time PokerStars worked with live casinos in the region, having previously worked with Grand Waldo and Gran Lisboa casinos in Macau, this project will serve as a more permanent home in Macau for the company.
“Players know that PokerStars is synonymous with integrity and high quality,” Danny McDonagh, PokerStars Director of Live Operations for Asia-Pacific, is quoted as saying. “That makes this collaboration a natural fit because City of Dreams has been at the forefront in providing the most innovative and premium gaming experience that is second to none in Macau.”
PokerStars aggressive global strategy of entering the brick and mortar poker space will surely see new venues added by the world’s largest poker company.
In addition to hosting PokerStars live events, including the Macau stop on the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), the Macau Millions and the new Macau Poker Cup, the cardroom will also host daily cash games and tournaments on its 13 poker tables.
PokerStars are in the process of finalizing the purchase of an Atlantic City property pending license approval in the state.
