PokerStars has dealt their 50 billionth hand on Wednesday at 10:37 AM at a .02/.05 No Limit Hold’em 6-max table. One lucky player won over $50,000 in cash and prizes.
With the 50 billionth hand and hefty rewards in sight, the website was swarming with activity as 220 000 players on 33 000 tables logged in the hopes of landing the mighty hand.
The lucky hand finally got dealt at a 02/.05 NL table titled Ornamenta, where German player ‘tbvle’ picked up $56,140 for the winning hand The five other players at the table received between $2,990 and $3,070, an amount based on the number of VIP points they had earned over the previous 50 hands. All players at that table also received a $5,200 WCOOP Main Event ticket.
As the hand was about to be dealt, all players at the table were informed of what was going on and given all the information on the prizes involved. The first player to act was a player named tbvle, who raised to 20 cents. Since all players knew that the winning pot would be worth over $50K, not surprisingly all players went all-in before the flop.
Overall, $952,239.50 was awarded to players by PokerStars throughout the promotion which paid out over 300 milestone hands from the 49.7 billion and hitting on every millionth hand up until the milestone 50 Billionth hand was hit.
The promotions continue until September 25th, including three $50,000 freerolls.
