PokerStars Carribean Adventure 2011PokerStars Carribean Adventure 2011As always, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is set to be an amazing event and already looks certain to beat last year’s field of 1,529 players.

The PCA is certainly kicking off with a bang today with an impressive $100,000 super-high roller tournament, making this the highest buy-in tourney in the world. According to our sources, 37 players bought into the event, instantly turning it into a roughly 3.5 million dollar game.

Many Team PokerStars players are in attendance, including Canadians Daniel Negreanu and recent WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, Jason Mercier, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Humberto Brenpes who are all set to play. Many other  other big names in attendance include Canadians  Sorel Mizzi, Michael McDonald and Cirque du Soleil billionaire Guy Laliberté who is also an avid poker player.

Other confirmed players who have bought in to this impressive event via the PokerStars online client, are 2010 WSOP North American Poker Tour Venetian champion and 2010 Card Player Player of the Year Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese, WSOP $25,000 Six-Handed runner-up Shawn “buck21” Buchanan, 2009 EPT London High Roller champion Matt Glantz, Andrew “good2cu” Robl, Ashton “theASHMAN103” Griffin, Vivek “psyduck101” Rapjkumar and Bryn “BrynKenney” Kenney. Bottom line is, this event is going to be outright sick.

The largest ever high-roller event of this scale was the 2008 Aussie Millions which prompted 25 players to put down $100,000 Australian. With 37 hopefulls in this 2011 event there is no question that this PCA will blow the Aussies right out of the crystal clear Caribbean water.
