PokerStars has made some massive announcements in honor of its 10th Anniversary in December; first off doubling the guarantee of its record breaking event held this past March to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Sunday Million tournaments. This time around they are putting up a $10,000,000 guaranteed prize-pool, with at least $2,000,000 slotted for first place will be up for grabs!

There was little doubt that players were excited this past spring, with nearly 60,000 players across the globe taking their seats in the $215 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event and with twice as much up for grabs on December 18th, Sunday “major” tournament attendance history could be made once again. Many anticipated the possibility of a juicy overlay in the event the last time a prize-pool this big was guaranteed; there certainly have been a few reasons this year that considerably up those odds for this go-around that will see players wanting to be have their calendars marked and entry ready.

That’s only the beginning of December’s poker excitement, with PokerStars promising 10 different promotions for the celebration. Only 2 have been announced so far, with more details for the remaining events being promised for release over the coming weeks; we do know that both cash/ring game and tournament players will be eligible to reap the rewards.

The second big announcement made on November 1st was all about the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure live tournament series taking place on Paradise Island In the Bahamas from January 5th to 14th, 2012. As part of the “10th Anniversary Giveaway”, 100 PCA packages valued at more than $15,000 each will be awarded, with freerolls to the PCA Weekly Finals now starting every ten minutes on PokerStars. Players are eligible to participate in one freeroll per day, with the top ten Players advancing from each into the weekly finals. Along with the PCA poker getaways an additional 10,000 cash prizes will be awarded throughout the promotion.

Alternatively, players can also take their shots via hourly Frequent Player Point qualifiers, or play cash satellites for both the PCA packages or $10,000,000 guaranteed Sunday Million event for buy-ins starting as low as $1.

For those of you who may have missed our recent coverage on the PokerStars Canada Cup, the exciting conclusion of the event will be played and filmed at the 2012 PCA. We wish everybody the best of luck in scoring their own poker vacation packaged to the PCA and we are sure good times will be had with more Canucks around to sweat the 9 Canada Cup players from across our country who will carry their chip counts forward to the final table. The 10th Anniversary Giveaway PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Weekly Finals (with a prize-pool value of $160,000) wrap up on December 11th.

On top of all this, the 70th Billion Hand promotion is also currently underway on PokerStars ring game tables right now, with special cash giveaways for being dealt in the hand every time selected milestones are hit. It’s getting much closer to number seventy billion being tabled on the virtual felts, so players looking for a chance at a piece will want to take their seats soon.

Things may be getting cold outside, but things are definitely heating on the PokerStars felts. If there was ever a time to grind with for cash, FPPs and promotional perks, this November and December will certainly bring all the above to the table.
