Poker Stars has recently announced the schedule for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) which begins in only a few months on January 6, 2011. The PCA is widely regarded as one of the global tournaments that every poker player must attend because of its vast variety of games as well as the tropical and beautiful climate to provide some relief from the middle of winter.
There are 47 scheduled tournaments, but there is always a lot of side action including cash games, sit n go’s and other minor tournaments. As far as the tournaments go, there is a game for everyone as variety is the name of the game here. There are nightly turbos, eight-game tourneys, battle ship poker, high roller events and these are just some of the wild and wacky games scheduled here.
As always though, there is the $10,300 Main Event that will bring out all the big stars in the poker industry as last year’s winner took home $2.2 million making it the second biggest payout for a champion next to the WSOP. Back in 2009, Canadian Poorya Nazari (Toronto, ON) took down the main event title in the PCA and Steve Paul-Ambrose (Kingston, ON) won the event in 2006, so Canadians have had a great history of results in this event.
Finally, the tournament that is getting a lot of notice that will be run for the first time at that PCA is the $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller event that is sure to see a massive prize pool!
If you are looking to qualify for any or all of these events PokerStars has satellites running daily for these events, and who would be against a little fun in the sun while playing poker anyways.
