Poker Paradise in Vancouver – Results For WCPC Main Event & WSOP-C Events 1 Through 3

0

It’s been a poker paradise in Vancouver this past week, with major event series at both the Edgewater Casino and River Rock Casino; we’ve seen both five and six figure paydays coming out of the coastal city and ton of players in the fields.

We’ve already recapped Events 1 through 5 from the West Coast Poker Championships, but they did save the best for last; the $2,000 Main Event drew more than 200 players, creating a top prize of more than $100,000. Sunday’s final table ran well into Monday morning before crowning local Kaan Becer as its victor; however 4 other players bagged $40,000 or more over the series, comparable to the top prizes of many recent Canadian events: Jason Mann, the winner of the 5k High Roller also final tabled Event #4 for roughly $43,000 in series cashes, Brian Yim placed third in the Main Event for more than $43,000, Terrence Chan finished runner up in 5k and 4th in the 2k for more than $57,000 total and Michael Baxter earned nearly $60,000 for his runner up finish to Becer. All told the 6 events pumped out more than $645,000 in combined prize-pools, an impressive total when placed next to most of the Championships taking place in the past 6 months!

Kaan has now vaulted over the $200,000 mark for career winnings after claiming the 2012 WCPC title, an impressive figure to go with an equally notable result. Congratulations Mr. Becer!

Here are the complete final results for the $2,000 No Limit Hold’em Championships:

As the WCPC was wrapping its final table, things were just getting started for Canada’s first ever World Series of Poker Circuit events at the River Rock Casino Resort; after the first 3 event’s conclusions and the start of Event 4, attendance numbers have reached 4 figures and prize-pools have exceeded $500,000 with 8 events still to go. While there have been tough players from across both the USA and Canada participating, so far the Lower Mainland has had an impressive showing and managed to claim all 3 WSOP-C rings awarded as their own.

The lists of those finding their way into the money are long, so we’ll get right to giving you those results:
