Party Poker is the latest online poker room to begin offering fast fold poker. The concept is currently in beta mode and will soon become available to play for real money with stakes of $0.02/$0.04 and $0.05/$0.10 within the next couple of weeks. Party Poker have conveniently named their product “Fast Forward”. The game is played at 6-Max NLHE tables and they have also added a fast-fold HU player pool. Other limits beyond micro stakes will be introduced subject to demand, and also a Pot Limit Omaha variant of the game.
FastForward follows pretty much the same format as other fast-fold products. It allows up to 4 entries per player, a “Fast Forward” button for folding and going to the next hand, and a slide animation to switch between tables. The option exists to stay at the same table once a player has folded their cards and “Watch on Fold” to see how the hand plays out, with a “Next Hand” button available when using the “Watch on Fold” option to start the next hand if the post-flop action becomes too much.
The innovative feature allows players to play hundreds of hands per hour thanks to them being seated in a player pool rather than one fixed table. Players don’t have to wait for a new hand to be dealt but instead can fold and be immediately placed at a new seat with new players.
Party Poker and other poker networks who were slow to introduce a fast-fold poker product were losing business to PokerStars Zoom Poker and more recently to iPoker Speed Poker. Fast-fold poker was first introduced to the online poker world by Full Tilt Poker some three years ago when Rush Poker was launched.
