CanadaPoker.com was happy to speak with Olivier Busquet who is the defending champion, winning last year”s WPT Borgata Open and $925,514. Since his victory last year, Olivier has remained in the poker spotlight, making a number of cashes at professional tournaments around the world, the most visible one being a runner-up finish at the EPT Monte Carlo No Limit Hold’em High Roller event last April which paid him an incredible $856,405. Olivier lives in New York, a short distance from the Borgata.
Olivier was 22nd in overall chips entering into Day 3 among 165 players. By about midday, with about 103 players remaining, Olivier strengthened his chip stack to about 850 thousand, clearly making him one of the top chip leaders behind the Italian, Giuseppe Pantaleo who started off in 2nd this morning and now has more than 1 million chips in
front of him.
About an hour later, the bubble was hit at around 3:30 PM and Greg Merritt is this year’s bubble boy.
At this point, one hundred players remain. Here is our interview with Olivier.
