The first internet gambling permit was issued to the Borgata, the first casino in New Jersey to submit a completed application. Boyd Gaming (owners of the Borgata) and MGM resorts, have entered into a partnership to offer online gaming with bwin.party who will provide the online gaming platform for their U.S. casinos.
“We are honored to receive New Jersey’s first Internet Gaming Permit,” said Borgata President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Ballance. “Borgata and bwin.party are aggressively pursuing our objective of being among the first to launch online gaming in the state.
Online gambling in New Jersey, which will be offered by the Atlantic City casinos is expected to go live on November 21 by any casinos that have received licenses before then.
Unlike Nevada where online poker is the only game permitted, New Jersey will also allow casinos to offer a variety of online casino games.
