Daniel Negreanu had an incredible run at the €10,300 buy-in EPT Barcelona High Roller. The Canadian pro led throughout most of the final table but lost in heads-up despite a head start overwhelming lead (almost 8-1) against Thomas Muhlocker of Austria.
Daniel has hammered the final table, dominating until the final stages. With three players left, Negreanu was stronger than 6.1 million chips, followed by Muhlocker with Thorel with 1.4 and 1.3.
The Canadian has found the winning thrust eliminating Thorel and decisive head-to-head, the chip situation was overwhelming: Negreanu had of 7.7 million versus 1.3 Austrian who has managed to double after a few hands (AA vs. 44).
The European player managed to take the chip lead against Daniel.
In the final hand, Kid Poker found himself AQ vs. AK has dominated found (AK vs AQ) and with a K on the flop, the game was over.
The Austrian player collected €390,000 while Negreanu took a nice bounty of €263,800. This cash will likely place Negreanu at the top of the Global Poker Index player of the year.
Also at the final table was current November Niner David Benefield (in great shape) and former world champion Jonathan Duhamel who finished in fifth for €118,000.
The event saw 180 entries (138 players plus 42 re-entries).
