More Canadian Results LAPC, Pazurik & Crowe Rake It In While Mueller, Mizzi and Marafioti Head Into WPT Main Event Day

While Jonathan Duhamel may have taken in the lion’s share of Canadian top results so far at the 2012 Las Angeles Poker Classic, he isn’t the only Canadian making some noise; David Pazurik of New Westminister British Columbia took down the event just prior Duhamel’s chop and heads-up finish against Vanessa Selbst in the $5,100, while Nova Scotia’s professional poker player Owen Crowe also continued to prove himself one of our best with 3 cashes over LAPC that included two final tables.

Pazurik’s win here eclipses his entire official career total for tournament poker so far and it looks to be his first title, so a big congratulations to him! It does seem however, that David did come close to a big win on Canadian soil back in 2008, where he finished 4th in the Coast to Coast Championship.

Crowe on the other hand adds another chunk of change to his now nearly $1.8 million in live tournament and is creeping up on fellow Canadian east coast player Cory Carroll for the 25th spot on Hendon Mob’s Canadian All Time Money list.

In 2011, Owen won Event #40 at the Las Angeles Poker Classic, taking down the $1065 No Limit Hold’em for $37,610; despite falling just short this year, the good news is, his mantle isn’t with-out an LAPC trophy.

Here are some more Canadian results from the world renowned poker tournament series at the Commerce:

Check out the field sizes and some Canadian finishes in these events:

Things are beginning to wrapped up in Las Angeles, with a $10,000 World Poker Tour stop now entering Day 3 at the Commerce Casino. As far as Canadian contenders go, it seems that the “M’s” are in the zone; Mueller and Mizzi are at the top of the chip counts to begin Sunday’s action, while Toronto’s Matt Marafioti is also still contention with nearly an average stack. 182 of 549 entries still remain, with a massive over $5 million dollar prize-pool up for grabs; 54 spots will pay, with first place being worth $1,370,240!

Sunday will also see the $25,000 “High Roller” get underway and is sure to bring some big names and excitement with it; Phil Ivey is in the house, playing his first event on American soil in quite some time. Ivey is also amongst those remaining in the main event’s Day 3, though he has work to do if wants to take his place amongst the chip leaders.

After this, just a few more tournaments remain before the series wraps up, but be sure to stay tuned to Canada Poker as we follow all the action to the finish lines!
