As far as guaranteed prize pools go, a $10 Million guaranteed prize pool is pretty tough to beat these days. But as far as overlays go, $2.5 million is even tougher to find. That’s what’s on the table in Hollywood, Florida at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. With the number of entrants at 1,499 for this $5,300 buy-in event falling just 500 short, a massive $2.5 Million overlay.
The expectations may have been too high as last year the tournament beat the guarantee with 2,384 entrants, but no one is complaining.
With six players remaining for the final table action, Canadian pro Mike Leah holds the chip lead. Mike Leah has already won 4 tournaments this year from six final tables, two WSOP Circuit events, a WPT side event at Fallsview and a PCA side event. WSOP One Drop winner Dan Colman trails behind, second in chips. Also at the table is 2010 November Niner John Dolan at the short stack.
Here are the chip counts going into final table battle:
Mike Leah – 15,455,000
Dan Colman – 10,230,000
