Rakeback deals on the Merge Poker Network will end as of February 1st and all players will be transitioned to VIP programs.
Any player on a rakeback account with a current VIP balance will need to use those rewards by the end of the month, as all such balances will be “zeroed out” when they are moved over to the VIP system. Players already on the VIP system do not need to spend points.
Some better known rooms on the Merge Network include Carbon Poker, Sportsbook.com, GR88. The network has dropped 55% since last year when Lock Poker left to form the Revolution poker network.
Justifying the move, a Carbon Poker representative stated that the switch is the best way to build and improve the overall poker ecology of the network.
Merge is one of the only poker networks accepting US players. The other major US facing networks are Revolution, Bodog, the Winning Network and the Chico network. Revolution offers 36% rakeback paid hourly, rooms on the Winning Network offer 27% rakeback.
