Kayvan Payman of Vancouver, BC travelled across 2 continents to play in Prague at the European Poker Tour. He bested 131 players in the €2k PLO event for a €36,475 payday. Playing in Prague agrees with Kayvan who won the €1k PLO event before it was changed to a €2k buyin at the EPT Prague two years ago along with a 5th place finish that same year in a NLH event.
Kayvan joins Guillaume Rivet who both secure first place finishes in Prague this year at EPT and Eureka Poker Tour events.
Across the same city the PartyPoker World Poker Tour was also running, making Prague a poker player’s dream for the two weeks, with the city being visited by more than 2-dozen Canadian poker players. Although there were no first place finishers, there were a few notable cashes.
In the main event, Canada’s best cash at 2012 WPT Prague was Yann Dion of Quebec who finished in 20th place for $17, 874.
In the WPT €10,000 buyin Highroller event, Canadians Mike McDonald and Jonathan Duhamel finished in 5th and 6th to pocket €38,600 and €27,600 respectively.
