Jonathan Duhamel Victim of Home Invasion

2010 World Series of Poker Champion Jonathan Duhamel was the victim of a home invasion early Wednesday morning in Boucherville, Quebec near Montreal.

Two men forced their way into Jonathan’s home. Local police said that the robbers rang the doorbell of and then pushed their way in when the door was opened.

Jonathan sustained some minor injuries but was able to call 9-1-1 after the robbers left. He was treated in hospital but was released later in the day. Apparently he is doing well now.

It is still unsure whether the home invasion was random or if Jonathan was specifically targeted by the robbers but the investigation is still ongoing.

Jonathan was crowned WSOP Champion last year winning $8.9 Million and became the first Canadian to bring home this prestigious title. He has made several other tournament cashes earlier this year which brought his total live winnings to more than $9.5 Million.

If anyone has any information that can help locate the perpetrators, please contact the Longueuil Police Department.
