The 2013 Atlantic Canada’s Poker Championship presented by Red Bull was hosted this weekend at the Red Shores Racetrack & Casino in Charlottetown, PEI. The annual event attracted players from the Maritimes and other parts of Canada who made the $550 buy-in for a chance to be this year’s champion.
A total of 302 players created a combined prize pool of $151,000 over the three day event.
The final deciding heads-up hand between Jeff Cormier and Jean Louis Arsenau would be one to remember, with both men from New Brunswick getting a dream flop. Jean Louis with pocket Aces and Jeff with pocket Kings, both good to go all-in. On the flop, Jeff scores another King to win the championship along with $37,750 top prize. Jean Louis gets $$22,650 as the runner up.
This is Jeff’s second final table at the ACPC, having finished in eighth spot a year prior.
As always, the team at Red Shores delivered another great poker tournament to Atlantic Canada.
