Gearing up for The Canadian Poker Open Championships

The Canadian Poker Tour is getting ready for its marquee event, The Canadian Open Poker Championships. It is being advertised as the largest series of poker tournaments in Canadian poker history. Calgary will be the host city and the tournament will take place in three different casinos: Deerfoot, Grey Eagle and Cash Casino. It all kicks off on August 19th and it will run for 11 days. 13 events will be held and the estimated total prize pools could reach 3.5 Million dollars.

Buy-ins will range from $200 to $5,000. The tournament will offer events in different formats: No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Ladies No Limit championship, and the signature Canadian Heads-up championship which last year had a prize pool of $276,759 and was won by Ben Lablond of Hull, Quebec. There will be a special satellite tournament on August 19th with the winners getting a spot in Events #1 and #2.
