Full-Tilt-Multi-Entry-Tournaments-1In a move that has can potentially alter the nature of online tournament poker, Full Tilt Poker added another innovative feature to its software this past week. Full Tilt introduced Multy-Entry Tournaments which allow players to enter the same tournament multiple times.

The Multi-Entry Tournament allows a player to enter the same tournament multiple times (with multiple seats) either at the same time, or at any point before entries are cut off. However, each entry from an individual player is seated at a different table, ensuring that a player won’t be able to play against themself. Each Multi-Entry Tournament will have a maximum number of entries allowed per player, which will vary by event.

If a player advances far enough so that there are fewer tables than entries remaining for that player, the player will be forced to have two entries at a single table. In such cases, a player’s entries will be merged. For example, if a player has one entry at each of the final three tables, and one of those tables closes, that entry will be merged with the remaining entry with the lowest chip count. The chips held by both entries will be combined into a larger stack. In addition, if the money bubble has already broken, the player will receive the prize money that would have been given to a player who had been eliminated at the point where one of their entries was forced to merge.Full-Tilt-Multi-Entry-Tournaments-2

Last year Full Tilt made headlines when they introduced Rush Poker and Cashout Tournaments. In Rush poker, players are immediately moved to new tables whenever they fold a hand, thereby increasing the number of hands they can see during a session

On top of this exciting software update, Full Tilt Poker also announced that it would be running a $30 million Double Guarantees Week from Monday January 24 to Sunday January 30. For that week only, every Guaranteed tournament on the schedule will have its prize pool doubled, culminating in what should be one of the biggest Sundays of the year in online poker. The Sunday Brawl, which kicks off at 2:00pm ET, will have its guaranteed prize pool increased from $400,000 to $800,000. The site’s flagship tournament, the $1 Million Guarantee, will have a $2 million prize pool. That event begins at 5:00pm ET.
