Was wondering if we could find a consensus on the best Canadian poker player in the world? Is it Negreanu? Brad Booth perhaps? How about Tuan Lam, Gavin Smith, Isabelle Mercier or maybe a dark horse like Evelyn Ng? Soo Who do you think is the Greatest Canadian Poker player of All-Time ?

How do you judge this? Is it by who has won the most money during their career?
There are a couple of guys who in one tournament have won more than $2-3 Million in one tournament but who have not done much since their big win but they've probably got more winnings than most Canadian poker players. We would also need to make the distinction between tournament play and cash play. Major tournament winnings are a lot easier to track than cash game success. I would say it should be somebody who has a consistent record of success, has earned the respect of his peers who essentially are keeping up with that player's track record. My guess would be Daniel Negreanu but only for live poker. Another important category would be online poker and Negreanu has not had much success in online poker which is where most of the players are playing nowadays. Not sure which Canadian player has the most success in that category. |

Negreanu is one of the best out of any country, so its obviously him.
Who would be second is up for debate, its not Booth, Mercier, or Smith. I think it would likely be some online phenom. |

Apparently, Negreanu is Canadian once again. He came back to Canada so he can play on PokerStars and collect his multi-million dollar salary. :0

Daniel Negreanu is my pick because he is well known, but you have to give nods to
Jonathon Duhamel winning a WSOP event has some bragging rights . |

+1 to hotshott74, Timex is an enigma/savant. I'm also going to have to throw Buchanan in the hat. not many more consistent, able to play mixed games as well, high stakes cash and still always be in contention to ship as Buck!
