Event #:16 $109 partypoker Canadian Grand Prix is underway at the World Cup of Cards hosted by Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, QC. The event boasts a massive guarantee of $500,000 with 11 live flights at Playground and dozens more online on partypoker.

Five more flights played out live at Playground on Friday. A total of 1250 entries have been received through the first seven qualifiers. Each Day 1 plays down to 10% of the total entries received when registration closes. So far 107 players have qualified for Day 2.
Day 1c received 95 entries sending 10 players through to Day 2. Esmail El Megharbel bagged the top stack, tossing 395,500 in. Day 1d attracted another 242 entries qualifying another 25 players for Day 2. David Lanthier ended play with the chip lead, building a stack of 656,000.
The 4 p.m. flight on Friday drew 213 entries with 22 players securing seats for Day 2. John Tajima was Day 1e’s top stack with 466,000. By far the largest field on Friday came with the 7 p.m., Day 1f flight. There were 313 players take a seat with 32 of them booking their Day 2 seat. Glenn Sauve topped the leaderboard with 414,000. The final flight on Friday was a 10 p.m. turbo. 135 players gathered guaranteeing seats for 14 of them. Yann Touchette jumped into the lead on the final hand busting the bubble and chipping up to 538,500.
