Once again the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary present their 2012 annual Kickoff Poker Series that is set to run from January 26th through to Super Bowl Sunday February 5th. The tournament series will offer up a wide variety of poker for all players.
A total of 7 events are on the schedule over 11 days with estimated total prize pools of $500,000. Four of the events will be featured as part of a Deepstack Weekend.
The series “kicks off” on Thursday January 26th in the evening with the first of 2 bankroll satellites which players can use for any of the events and is followed by a new turbo challenge event with 3 qualifying rounds for the final on Sunday. Back again is the popular triple chance event on Monday, January 30th followed by the second bankroll satellite on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday February 1st, the Calgary Flames will be hosting their annual charity event which is already sold out for the 6th year in a row. Poker pro Gavin Smith will be in town for the series.
The Main Event is a $1,650 buy-in with 25,000 in starting chips and 40 minute blind levels. Pot Limit Omaha players can find another great structure in the PLO $1,100 buy-in event also with 25,000 starting chips.
Super Bowl Sunday is back with the $350 buy-in event. A big field is expected for this so be sure to register early before the 2pm start time.
This year’s Kickoff Series is sponsored by the Tropicana Las Vegas Resort and Casino who will be putting up special prize packages for the winners of all of the events.
