The First event of the COPC kicked off last night in Calgary. It was the first of two $500 + $50 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournaments of the COPC series and attracted a field of 297 players with a total prize pool of approximately $150,000. The event was divided across 3 different casino venues with a one hour starting time difference across each casino.
Day 2 of this event continues today at the Deerfoot Casino where a total of 84 players remain. The average starting chip stack is about 27,700 with 2,329,675 total chips in play. The chip leader going into Day 2 is Adam Hamoui of Montreal with 73,550 in chips. He is followed by 3 local Calgarians Roman Brar (70,575 chips), Victor Adams (60,925) and Dave Tsegai (66,125).
Tonight’s winner of Event #1 is expected to walk away with an estimated $32,000.
Event #2, a $1,000 + $100 No Limit Hold’em also begins today.
