As we enter the final leg of the COPC in Calgary this Sunday, 3 tournaments are currently in progress. Event #9, the $2,200 No-Limit Hold’em Championship, is down to the final table on its 3rd day of play. John Nguyen of BC in a commanding chip lead since Day 1 is trailed by Johnny Dai. Will he hang on for the big win? All 10 remaining players from the original 168 starting field will claim their share of estimated $320,000 prize pool. The winner will be decided at the Deerfoot Casino.
Event #10, the $550 NLH, is down to 60 players on Day 2. The event started off with 245 players and there is an estimated total prize pool of $117,000. John Troke of Kelowna BC currently leads the pack with 69,050 chips whilst the average chip count is at 30,550.
Sixty players started today in the $1,100 NLH Event #11 at Cash Casino competing for the last championship ring of the tournament. The estimated prize pool is about $57,000.
The level of excitement is high in the poker rooms as three champions are to be crowned today after a successful 10 day run of the 2010 COPC series.
