In the wee hours of Tuesday morning inside Playground Poker Club, Toronto, Ontario native Cassidy Battikha emerged victoriously in the partypoker Live Grand Prix Canada. Besting a final table that included Canadian poker legend Mike Leah, Battikha took the better part of a three-way deal and banked $84,050 for his efforts.
Only 38 players returned on Day 3 from a closing field of 2,570 entries. Leah had the lead going in but by the time the final table had formed, Battikha was in command.
Impressively, two players who held a Golden Chip advanced to the final table, Leah and Kevin Zeidler. Even more impressive was the fact that each made it to the final four. Leah however, would be the first to fall and Zeidler picked up a nice $20,000 bonus on top of his third place ICM cash.
