On April 24, 2000 Casino Nova Scotia Halifax built a brand new, $100-million “Vegas-style” facility on the downtown Halifax waterfront. It was originally owned by Caesar’s until October 2005, when Casino Nova Scotia was bought out by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
The casino has 650 slots and table games. There is an attached 550-car parkade, including 14 wheelchair-accessible spaces.
The casino is connected via pedway to the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront, formerly the Casino Nova Scotia Hotel and Sheraton Hotel Halifax. The pedway also connects to Purdy’s Wharf, Scotia Square, and the downtown core.
Casino Nova Scotia’s spacious 8 table poker room is open noon to 4am daily, spreading from 1/2 to 5/10 No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha with other limits and games available upon request.
In room bar and food service featuring free tea, coffee, soft drinks and a discounted menu served table side are available. Deckmate shufflers on all tables provide fast paced entertainment, and multiple flat screen TV’s are perfect for keeping an eye on the markets or watching your favorite team play.
