Amir Babakhani wins first PartyPoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship

It was a very exciting matchup with a series of comebacks by Barry Kruger, but Amir Babakhani managed to hold his chip lead throughout the final table to come out on top and win the title, $417,248 in cash and coveted championship belt at Playground Poker Club. He will play at the WPT World Poker Finals in Las Vegas.  Barry Kruger played an awesome game and it could have gone in either direction. Barry wins $272,555. Both men go back to Toronto with the biggest wins in their poker careers.

Congratulations to the winners! It was a phenomenal World Poker Tour event thanks to the players, the event organizers and the great staff at Playground Poker Club – Canada’s Top Poker Destination.

I've been with Canada Poker since our launch and started out as the site's webmaster, forum administrator and developer. Eventually, my love for poker drew me to start writing articles. You'll also recognize me as the one in front of the camera when we interview the pros. Also an amateur photographer, many players at live events also recognize me as the Canada Poker photographer. Canada Poker has also provided me with a wild ride across Canada to most of the major events on the circuit as a reporter.
