2013 WSOP Europe Kicks off Today

2013 WSOP EuropeWith the WSOP November Nine final table still a month away, today marks the start of the seventh annual World Series of Poker Europe series and this year’s event promises tons of big names, plenty of money up for grabs, and new events in a new locale. The WSOPE has moved from Cannes to Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains just outside of Paris, France.

Eight WSOP Bracelets will be awarded over the next 13 days including the first ever WSOPE Ladies Event, the first ever WSOPE €25,600 High Roller Event and of course, the €10,450 WSOPE Main Event.

“We expect a terrific turnout for the entire WSOPE given the population base in Paris, travel options from major European cities and adjacent tournament scheduling. We are planning for this to be the biggest WSOPE to date.” said WSOP Executive Director, Ty Stewart.

Today the action begins with the first preliminary bracelet at 5pm and things continue nonstop from there. This weekend boasts an €1,100 re-entry event as well as the first of two Mix-Max tournaments.  Next weekend the big show, the  €10,450 Main Event kicks off and will no doubt feature Phil Hellmuth trying to defend his title.

This year, both the Main Event as well at the High Roller event will be filmed for television and to air on ESPN.
