2013 Regina Harvest Poker Classic Results; Eric Johnson Takes Down Another!

Proving to be one of the better attended series of the Prairies, the 2013 Regina Harvest Poker Classic drew nearly $542,000 in player prize-pools over just four single day No Limit Hold’em tournaments.

Bad weather for travelling in the past few years had seen the Casino Regina slip behind other regional series for a stint, however, these fields look to be some of the best numbers of the past few months, ahead of recent series in Calgary, Winnipeg and even Edmonton.

Other notable highlights include yet another 2013 win for Winnipeg’s Eric Johnson, who just a few months ago took down the September 26th-27th $600 No Limit Hold’em event  for more than $23,500 at the Manitoba Lotteries Poker Championship, following up on a second place finish in their $1k only six months prior worth $24,458.  This time around Johnson went for the gusto, hauling in a tidy sum greater than both of those combined; a cool $51,619 to take him into the six-figure bracket for major tournament winnings.

Local Derek Houle was also on quite the heater, finishing in the top three twice over the series for a total of a hair under $32,000 (plus an unknown amount in bounties), while Edmonton’s Ron Lauzon made back-to-back final tables for finishes totaling nearly $8,500.

In Event #2, and also hailing from Winnipeg, winner Brian Frieson also claimed an overdue  first  title, after having 6 prior “oh-so-close” major final table finishes around North America and career cashes totaling more than $150,000 before this one.

Finally, it appears that the “Bank of Casino Regina” has not yet capped Saskatoon’s Ryan Smith withdrawal limit, seeing him take out yet another five figures.  So far, Smith has taken home more than $161,000 from a dozen cashes and nine final table finishes over only the past 5 years of the semi-annual Casino Regina Poker Classics.  Well played Ryan, well played…

Here are the full results, congrats to all!
