Casino Yellowhead and Casino ABS-Edmonton (Argyll) have 2 upcoming tournament series scheduled in late August and October that should draw in around $700,000 in prize-pools; based on a long history of successful events, it wouldn’t be surprising to see even more up for grabs.

Hosted by the same group, the 2nd Annual Klondike Classic back in July payed out $297,438 in prize money over 4 events, while the April Western Canadian Poker Classic had over $348,000 in player prize money awarded, with a $40,000 top pay-out in it’s 2 start day $500 buy-in that attracted 300 players. These popular series have been known to break 200 player fields at every buy-in in the including the $1000 Main Event in their past poker festivals. Past winners of events have also been awarded both a trophy and Champions Ring at Yellowhead and Argyll events; making it safe to assume the same for these two great poker tournament series. In addition, all tournament entries have included a player’s meal, traditionally; full prime rib, chicken and ham dinners with all the fixings are on the menu.

Cash Game action from $1-$2 NL up to as high as $25-$50 PLO are steady throughout the series and Edmonton’s $500 max buy at the $1-$2 tables makes some for some deep play and huge pots available for almost any bankroll.
