11th Annual Western Canadian Poker Classic at Casino Yellowhead

An estimated $500,000 in combined series prize-pools will soon be up for grabs over the 5 events making the 11th Annual Western Canadian Poker Classic at Edmonton’s Casino Yellowhead.

Set to take place from April 21st to May 3rd, the “Satellite Week” being hosted by both ABS poker rooms preceding the tournament will decently get the tournaments off to a good start before game day arrives, giving players a more affordable shot at participating and the series a key ingredient to continue on being a big success; several will even award winners entry into all five events!

The 7 satellites of various buy-ins begin on Sunday April 21st, 3 of which will take place at Casino Edmonton and the remainder as follows:

Sunday, April 21st at 7:00PM – Casino Edmonton – $105 ($90+$10+$5)

7000 + 1000 chips ($5 dealer add-on), with 20 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into Event #4 – $800 NLHE, (3 Day Event)

Monday, April 22nd at 7:00PM – Casino Yellowhead – $105 ($90+$10+$5)

7000 + 1000 chips ($5 dealer add-on), with 20 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into Event #4 – $800 NLHE, (3 Day Event)

Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:00PM – Casino Edmonton – $75 ($60+$10+$5)

5000 + 1000 chips ($5 dealer add-on), with 15 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into Event #1 – $560 NLHE

Wednesday, April 24th @ 7:00PM – Casino Yellowhead – $75 ($60+$10+$5)

5000 + 1000 chips ($5 dealer add-on), with 15 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into Event #1 – $560 NLHE

Thursday, April 25th @ 7:00PM – Casino Edmonton – $400 ($350+$40+$10)

10,000 + 2000 chips ($10 dealer add-on) with 30 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into ALL 5 EVENTS

Friday, April 26th @ 7:00PM – Casino Yellowhead – $200 ($170+$20+$10)

8000 + 2000 chips ($10 dealer add-on) with 20 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into Event #5 – $1,660 NLHE

Sat, April 27th @ 4:00PM – Casino Yellowhead – $400 ($350+$40+$10)

10,000 + 2000 chips ($10 dealer add-on) with 30 minute rounds – Top 10% Wins Entry into ALL 5 EVENTS

 

Event Schedule for the 11th Annual Western Canadian Poker Classic at Casino Yellowhead:

Event #1 – 6 Max No Limit Hold’em – $560 ($500+$50+$10)

Sunday, April 28th @ 4:00PM

This Short Handed NLHE starts players with a maximum of 6 players per table, 10,000 in tournament chips and the option of purchasing an additional 2000 chip “dealer add-on” for $10. Blind levels are 30 minutes.

Event #2 – No Limit Hold’em – $285 ($250+$25+$10)

Monday, April 29th @ 6:00PM

Each entry includes 8000 tournament chips, with an additional 2000 chips available for $10 as an optional dealer add-on.

30 minute rounds.

Event #3 – Pot Limit Omaha – $285 ($250+$25+$10)

Tuesday, April 30th @ 6:00PM

Each entry includes 8000 tournament chips, with an additional 2000 chips available for $10 as an optional dealer add-on.

30 minute rounds.

Event #4 – No Limit Hold’em – $800 ($720+$70+$10)

NEW FORMAT, 3 STARTING DAYS

Day 1A – Wed, May 1st & Day 1B – Thur, May 2nd both start @ 6:00PM

Day 1C on Friday, May 3rd will begin at 4:00PM.

Players start with 13,000 in tournament chips and have the option of adding 2000 chips for $10. This event has 40 minute rounds.

NEW – Top 10% Each day shall receive a “min-cash” of $1,200 and advance to finals on Sunday, May 5th at Noon. Players may play multiple Day 1′s and enter finals with their largest stack.

Event #5 – $1,660 No Limit Hold’em ($1500+$150+$10)

Saturday, May 4th @ 2:00PM

This NLHE Championship features 15,000 starting chips + T2000 optional $10 dealer add-on, with 40 minute levels, increasing to 60 minutes in the later rounds.

    Essentially the $1660 buy in would be similar to a rebuy – as you can play all the starting days, ABC from Wed – Fri, May 1 -3.

      OBV no1 can read in Edmonton. The 3 starting flights are for the $800. The $1660 is the MAIN and no it is not a re-buy. They may let you re-enter though…
