$1,000,000 Main Event Guarantee Added to WPT Canadian Spring Championships

wpt_canadian_championship_250x250_en_CA_USDIf your making your way out to Montreal and the felts of Playground Poker Club this year, the recently announced changes to the WPT Canadian Spring Championships for 2014 are sure to please – in fact there are now at least a million good reasons to take your shot from March 27th to April 1st as it is GUARANTEED no less than $1,000,000 will be in the $1,100 Main Event prize-pool!

You read that right, players of all skill will no longer have to pony up $3,000 to $4,000 to have a chance at some life changing money as partypoker and Playground Poker Club are putting their money where their mouth is – there will be four figure number representing the amount of entries or the difference in the prize money to be will be added regardless.

Of course, based on previous events and the fact that the World Poker Tour stops in Canada have been awarding our countries largest top prizes, we anticipate that these numbers are the bare minimum of what players can expect – as we type this article the $1,100 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic was a complete sell out, combined with the $2,500 and $5,000 events more than $3.5 million is changed hands between the players. On that note, high stakes players also need not worry, the bigger buy-ins will return in December for WPT Montreal.

Once again, players will have plenty of qualifying options participate via PartyPoker, both live and online:

The daily “WPT Canadian Spring Championship Freeroll” advances 50 players to the “ $0.50 Sub Qualifier Turbo Rebuy”, or players can also buy in directly for the “$1 Sub Qualifier Turbo”.

From there, every $10 in the prize-pools awards “$10 Satellite Qualifier” seats, which run every day at 14:50 & 19:25 ET (regular format), as well as Sundays at 13:25 (Hyper Turbo). Every $100 in the prize-pools awards an entry into the “WPT Canadian Spring Championships Satellite – 1 Package GTD”.

This final step runs Monday to Saturday at 21:25 ET & Sundays at 14:50 ET, with a 1 package being awarded for every $1,500 in the prize-pool. Of course, players can also buy into these directly for $100 without playing any of the other qualifying routes.

If you prefer the feel of pushing real chips into the center, partypoker is adding 25 seats into the $100 + $10 “Mega Overlay” satellite, with Day 1a through 1c to be held at Playground Poker Club on February 27th & 28th at 7:30 PM and Saturday, March 1st at 12:00 PM.
