For the past few months there has been a lot of buzz in the poker community about the $10 Million Guaranteed prize-pool Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $5,300 Main Event, it seemed like a pretty high mark to hit, but no matter the outcome it would be a win-win situation for players willing to make the trip to Hollywood, Florida.
The closer game day approached, the more people got excited, but it was still anyone’s guess as to whether Seminole Hard Rock Casino would be digging into their own pockets to make up any difference.
After Day 1A drew 634 entries and Day 1B another 690, given the pace it appeared on the surface that Day 1C was going to see the guarantee met, but just barely; not so however, as an impressive 1060 entries wanted in, bringing the total to 2,384 to create a massive $11,920,000 prize-pool!
Of those, 768 players now remain and advance to Day 2, with notable Canadian players Mark Radoja, Daniel Idema, Griffin Benger, Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Shawn Buchanan, Terrance Chan, Jonathan Roy, Mike Leah, Michael Malm and Gavin Smith still in the mix.
338 spots will pay at least $7,500, first will be good for $1,745,245 and even second place will make a new poker millionaire, or at least add seven figures the career totals of an existing one.
Good Luck players!
