Las Vegas police are looking for an armed casino bandit who escaped on a motorcycle with perhaps $1.5 million worth of gambling chips from the Bellagio casino.
A police spokeswoman said the unidentified suspect entered the casino at about 3:50 a.m. local time, wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet, and walked directly to a craps table. He displayed a gun in a casino pit area, told everyone not to move and then demanded chips. The suspect took approximately $1.5 million worth of casino chips and then ran back out to the motorcycle and fled westbound on Flamingo Boulevard on a black sport-style motorcycle.
Police believe this is the same man who robbed the poker room cashier at the Sun Coast Casino on December 9. In that incident, the suspect was also on a motorcycle and got away with $20,000.
The suspect is described as a white male standing 5’10” to 6’0″ tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was carrying a handgun.
Some surveillance camera photos caught shots of the robber.
Maybe he watched the movie Ocean’s Eleven one too many times.
